hello!
I'd like to thank all of you lovely people for joining me and Kelsey on I&B in the last month and a half. it's been a great pleasure roleplaying and talking with y'all, and I hope things continue on just like that!
writer's block?
have you ever created a really awesome character, but you weren't really sure how to bring that character into a thread? has your muse ever crashed into a solid wall? if so, I hope some of my tips might help!
if you have no idea where to start, go outside for a walk (seriously). think about how you are feeling. is the sun burning your skin? can you feel the grass under your bare feet? what animals do you see? what people do you see? what are they doing? can you smell freshly mowed grass? next, go inside and lay on your bed. is the AC cranked up so high that you're forced to grab a blanket? did you disturb a pet that was sleeping happily? can you hear the sounds of your family in the house? look at the ceiling for a while and just daydream.
once you've done that, go back to your computer and try to incorporate something you saw or felt into your posts. no, your character isn't you, but every character you make is in some part inspired by you. figure out what aspect of your character is you, and you can use that to help defeat writer's block!

this newsletter is acting as an activity check! please respond by april 14th. if you don't, your character will be suspended and your play-by will be opened up for others to use. please let your roleplaying partners know if you will be unable to post for them within a few days by posting in the {absences boards}.
it's not just there for absences; if you are really busy for whatever reason, please let us know that too! even if you are busy, I still hope you can participate in the {general board} discussion topics and in the {games board} activities. I would like to extend a thank you to KADEN to posting several games there!
april site event!
the spring festival is in town, beginning april 1st and ending april 14th. the main street of cresting grove will be closed for performances and various craft booths. nearby, at the lake, rides will be set up for the residents' enjoyment. feel free to create threads about this anytime between the dates of festival. most residents will at least be impaired by this event, due to the main street being shut down! (:

gossip!
our friendly member, {gossip}, didn't quite have much to work with this much. send her more gossip about your characters for next month! her in-character blog will be coming out very soon. click {here} for instructions on sending it in!
reminders!
please remember to post in the {character index} and {play-by} threads. it is important for you to post in the character index thread whether you have one character or six million characters. we need to know which alias goes with which character, and you have to be listed in the character index to be nominated for any of the OF THE MONTH voting. the play-by claim is important because until you post there, you have not claimed your PB. posting in your application that you are using bob as a PB does not mean you have claimed it. until you claim it in the play-by thread, anyone can claim it.
also, remember the {wanted ads}! if you have posted a request here that has been filled, please make that clear in the thread. you can delete it or just write "request filled" at the end of the thread. if someone takes up a character request but isn't active; message the person, and if they don't reply within a week, you can re-open your thread.
site additions!
two weeks ago, we added an {open thread directory}, where you can post threads that you have started. we hope that this lets more people know where the open, empty threads are so that great posts don't get ignored! we have also created two new boards: {cresting grove high} and {cresting grove college}
feedback!
this is just a reminder that I love feedback and ideas on I&B! in fact, all three of the additions to the site that I mentioned before were all suggested by members. if you have an idea for something, whether it be a site plot or a system of organization, please let me know! you can also post in the {feedback board}, especially if you would like other member's opinions. any and all feedback is appreciated; just make sure it is constructive instead of destructive!
