So Laurysa and I were talking about sending out a newsletter to everyone. Er, well, two kind of. One would be for in character, talking about different things. Such as, SATs coming up or prom or planned in character events. The other one would be out of character, talking about the spotlights for that month and what the out of character events would be, such as if a big storm is coming or whatnot. Anyways, what we want from you is suggestions for it. So.... yeah. (:
Here's a list of features that we're thinking of adding. OUT OF CHARACTER FEATURES
○ Member Spotlights
○ Contests (ie: Graphics, Writing)
○ OOC Events (ie: Big Storm)
○ Character Wanted Ads (if a member wants their wanted ad in the newsletter, then PM Laurysa or Kelsey?)
○ Opening Letter Thingy (Just kind of talking about how good the previous month was and a summary of the upcoming month.)
IN CHARACTER FEATURES
○ Planned In Character Events (ies: Picnic, Dance, ect)
○ Misc Events (ie: SATS)
○ Gossip Column (instead of a gossip board perhaps?)
○ Advice Column

I think in character and out of character would be a good idea, especially if we split the newsletter into an IC and OOC thing.

or, perhaps we can have like a goal list. they did this on a site i was on a year ago and they had goals to reach and the admin posted that on their profile and it was quite nifty. like reach a certain amount of post in a week and stuff like that.
and a few ideas for in-character events could be like a giant annual town masquerade, when i had a site that seemed the most popular site wide event my sister and i had put up.(:

I like the idea of a masquerade, but I think we should save it for a future event when we have more members. I'm not sure if I like goal posts or not, though, just because I don't want to set it unrealistically high, and I don't want people to just post random stuff just to make a specific goal. We could post the number of threads/members/etc that we have each newsletter, though, just so everyone can see where we are at. Another thing Kelsey and I were talking about was an easter egg hunt of sorts, where she and I would post pictures of easter eggs (or something else XD) in various places in the website, and whoever could find them all first by means of posting where they all are, would win. Not exactly sure what they would win, but I'm sure we could think of something  |
